Not only do these women (girls?) look extremely thin and unhealthy, but my main concern is how young they look. Urban Outfitters is supposed to be for teenagers and twenty-somethings. These girls look barely 13. Their bodies look under developed and their faces have hardly any makeup. Now, I don't want to say that if you are skinny and have smaller breasts to be ashamed... but these photos are clearly meant to portray children. From the body size to the look on their faces to their poses. The first photo is so obviously portraying a naked ignorant child... it is painful. Her skirt is pushed up too high, and she is letting down her tangled hair; she is disheveled, as if she just got done playing outside . Her shirt is about to spring open while she is completely disheveled, ignorant, innocent and has no sense of self, just like a child. The second photo looks as though she is unzipping her dress, while her face looks clueless and innocent, like that of a child. Or perhaps her face looks irritated, but her own unzipping of her dress disguises her as willing.
Who are these advertisements for? They were certainly not produced to appeal to me, or any of my friends who are twenty somethings...... So who are they for?
