Well, if you read this blog consistently then you understand my strong dislike towards, and utter repulsion and annoyance with Eminem. Well, now he has this new music video out......sigh.
The video itself, besides being creepy....is really just dumb. Obviously I could make a feminist argument about why I don't like the video (or Eminem) but the girls over a feministing have done a great job at covering all the points, so HERE is the link to that.
I on the other hand, am just going to cover why I think it is dumb:
----- Eminem should go stay in a cornfield with his stupid wife-beater tank top FOREVER. OR go back to 1998 where he belongs. So annoying.
"Ok....so, here's my concept for the video. Em, you are going to be in a wifebeater in a cornfield. RiRi, you are going to be in your underpants in front of a burning house. It's burning cause'...it's like the lyrics...which are metaphoric.... but because we can't think of anything more creative----'the roof! the roof! the roof is on fire!'. Burn it down!!! We also think that if YOU played the couple that would be a little tooooo creepy and too true to life, so instead we are going to replace Ri with Megan Fox, and then we are going to replace Em with that hobbit guy from LOTR. They look similiar. Ok, so then we are going to put them in this house, and on every shelf there is going to be a bottle of Olde English. Don't worry, its going to make the house look REALLY class, and the alcohol will help it burn better. Production starts in 2 weeks, and will last approx. 15 minutes."
